The ancient Filipinos had a concept of a powerful being responsible for the creation of the earth and everything in it. The different tribes had the names of the Creator like Laon or Malaon among the Visayans, Bathala or Maykapal among the Tagalogs, Gugurang among the Bicolanos, Batala among the Moro, Pamulak Manobo among the Bagobo, Manam and Kalgayagan, Bulalakaw among the Negritos of Panay Island.

We, Filipinos, have a rich culture; it is but fair that my and your generation and the generations to come shall cherish what we have. It is alright to be in awe with what the western culture and other dominating cultures have in store, so long as we will not forget that we are Filipinos in values as reminded by our literature. Be a KPOP fan, a netflix fan, a Hollywood fanatic but REMAIN a FILIPINO at heart and in deeds.
