WHO: High school students in 10th,11th,12th grade who have scored 80 or higher on a Regents
WHAT: The STEM Saturdays program provides an opportunity for students who have little to no exposure to STEM extracurricular programs, in order to support students in generating a positive STEM identity of themselves and their skillsets within various STEM strands. Within each class, students are immersed in project-based learning environments that develop their design thinking, problem-based learning, and critical thinking skills.

WHO: High school Juniors and Seniors
WHAT: Empowering the next generation of New Yorkers, City Limit’s CLARIFY (City Limits Accountability Reporting Initiative for Youth) program provides meaningful experiences that equip high school students with the skills they need to succeed in higher education, future careers, and civic life. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and real work experience, students gain critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. This unique opportunity is designed for students from all backgrounds, with a special focus on those who may not typically have access to paid internships or professional development programs. CLARIFY aims to bridge this gap, helping youth build confidence and prepare for a successful future. CLARIFY is a paid internship in public service journalism that provides students with important career readiness skills through the lens of public service journalism. Gain skills in research, journalism writing, public speaking, teamwork, and meeting deadlines.

URBAN ARTS 2D GAME DEVELOPMENT (UNPAID)
WHO: High school students in 10th,11th,12th grade who have scored 80 or higher on a Regents
WHAT: Game Academy is an award-winning, three-level game design and computer science program for high school students looking for college preparatory STEM opportunities. In the first course, 2D Game Development, you will code and design your first video game prototype using Unity3D—an interactive media engine used widely within the game industry. Coursework includes C# programming with Unity3D, 2D pixel art and sprite animation, digital music and sound FX, and narrative writing.
Our tuition-free model allows our admissions process to focus exclusively on recruiting the students with the strongest interest to learn, regardless of family income.

COOPER HEWITT DESIGN HIVE INTERNSHIP (PAID) Deadline: 09/16/2025
COOPER HEWITT DESIGN HIVE INTERNSHIP (PAID)
WHO: High school Juniors and Seniors
WHAT: Design Hive is a paid, youth-led initiative at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. High school juniors and seniors dive deep into design objects and processes to develop their own collaborative projects. Along the way, they will learn how designers move from an initial idea to final design.This year, Design Hive will focus on the connection between design and sound. We are looking for aspiring designers who are excited to explore how design shapes the way we experience music, from eye-catching concert posters to the look and feel of speakers, headphones, and music spaces. You don’t need to be a musician to apply, just creative and curious. Students must be based in the New York City area to apply. The program begins with an orientation on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Regular sessions run weekly from Tuesday, December 2, 2025 through Tuesday, May 19, 2026. All Department of Education school breaks and holidays are observed.
Students selected for Design Hive will receive a stipend of $2,000 for their participation, paid in two $1,000 payments during the program.
WHERE: Participants must attend weekly program dates and be available to meet at Cooper Hewitt (2 East 91st St, New York, NY 10128).
This program will take place virtually, via Zoom webinar. The program will be recorded for future reference.
WHEN: Design Hive takes place weekly on Tuesdays from 4:30–6:30 P.M.
Regular sessions run weekly from Tuesday, December 2, 2025 through Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

BROOKLYN MUSEUM TEEN NIGHT PLANNING COMMITTEE (PAID) Deadline: 09/21/25
BROOKLYN MUSEUM TEEN NIGHT PLANNING COMMITTEE (PAID)
WHO: High school Students between the ages of 14-19
WHAT: In this paid internship, New York City teens create community programming grounded in art and activism, collaborating in program design, organizing activities, and promoting young artists who are changing the world. Get paid $16 per hour. Second-year Teen Night Planning Committee members serve as leaders in the program and are paid $17 per hour. Work up to 75 hours for the year! MetroCards will be provided to support weekend and evening work.
Teen Night Planning Committee members:
Learn about the social movements and political organizing efforts affecting youth today
Meet educators, artists, and curators to learn about art, public programming, and the Brooklyn Museum’s collections
Plan, organize, and lead free, large-scale events for New York City teens
Activate social media to connect teens with art and current events
Promote Teen Night and other programs to teens across New York City, especially in Brooklyn
Connect with emerging artists and performers
Strengthen communication, collaboration, time management, organizational, and event-planning skills

WHEN: This program is open to all NYC high school students ages 14–19 and will take place in person from November 2024 through May 2025.
All Planning Committee members must be able to commit to the full work schedule:

Fridays and weekends: occasional teen staff events, field trips, and activities, to be determined
