Canva and Photoshop
The idea of this project was to show the unrealistic standards of what society expects us to eat in a day to look and feel healthy. Often times I will see influencers online posting what they eat in a day and it's all very curated and small portions, that do not seem like they'd fuel you for a day but theyre body looks incredible so you follow it anyway. I wanted to really exaggerate how much counting calories and trying to burn off everything you eat affects people on the daily and how it has become a regular part of some people's lives and routines. This is not a healthy habit but it is seen as such, and I wanted to show that.
For the materials I chose to primarily use photoshop and canva. I used this software because I thought it would most accurately create the aestetic I wanted of the menu, or at least give me some ideas. I felt with using a software that people probably do actually use to create a menu it made it rather realistic.
I started with looking at what menus really looked like, obviously I've seen menus before, but I wanted to take a closer look at the format and styling that many people use. I then went to canva for a basic outline, some designs and fonts, I used the general format to create the font, and then came up with my own products. I then used photos of all the items to hlep me draw simplified versions of them in my sketchbook which I then transferred into photoshop and filled in with colors and outlined more strongly. I then dragged those onto the menu and made final size ajustments.
