Arcrylic paint on canvas
The idea behind this work was to sort od capture the essence of a person in a distorted way. I wanted to have it be recognizable as a person, but have other features around that kind of give an idea of this person's life. I added a dancer, flowers, and a wing, and an eye which all sort of represent elements of this person's ideas.
For this piece I used acrylic paint on canvas for the whole thing. I wanted to use acrylic because when we used it before we did the whole color design thing which I honestly kind of hated, but I sort of knew if I could blend it and do what I wanted it would be fun. I did hate mixing the colors but once I got through that part I enjoyed the painting process.
I started off actually with a more realistic side profile of a person in brown that I was going to color in with different colors. I hated that though, so I painted over it and started over. I used some inspiration but not much, I just sort of painted some dark lines in the general shape of a face and hoped that they would come together at the end. Once the face was done, I liked it, but I still had a lot of extra time so I added some random stuff which i don't really like but I'm too lazy to paint over it.
