Donate Life 

With this piece of art, the assignment was to create a poster to raise awareness for organ and tissue donations. With this drawing I wanted to show  a hand holding a heart, representing somebody giving their heart to somebody else, or, you as the hand are holding somebodies heart. It is in your hands to save them or not. Shown through the flowers is simply a symbol of life and kindness. 

For this work I used colored pencil on black drawing paper. The colored pencil felt right because it could show detail and be a vibrant color. I wanted to use lots of light colors so black seemed like the right choice of paper. 

I began with simple graphite on printer paper brainstorming, I just put down a whole lot of ideas, but essetially decided that this would be simple and meaningful. I started out with just a simple vine but decided to add the flowers later on to add more color and just overall life and joy.
