How To Become a State DRIVES Tester
There are a number of steps and activities that need to be completed to provide an appropriate level of training and access which is required to become a DRIVES Tester. See the steps below to guide you through the process:
Step 1 -- Access to DRIVES Lower Environments is required to participate in DRIVES Testing.
If you have ever requested or had access to CVS DRIVES APP and All Access CVT, please try to log in to the environments using the DRIVES Web Links. You may still have access and do not realize it.
If you have access to the DRIVES Lower Environments, go to Part 2.
If you have never requested access or are unable to log in, a DOR Access Request Form form will be needed.
Step 2 -- Completion of training is required to gain access to DRIVES Lower Environments.
Supervisor will need to send an email to the LMS Administrator email, dor_dmv_county_lms@state.co.us, with the following information:
Users full name
Request the required training to be added to the users LMS transcript for DRIVES Tester Access.
Step 3 -- The DMV LMS Administrator will:
Verify if training is required.
If required, the Tester curriculum will be added to the LMS transcript.
If training has been completed within the last 6 months, the LMS Admin will notify the Supervisor that that training requirement has been completed so your Supervisor can proceed to Step 4.
Step 4 -- Your Supervisor must complete the “DOR Access Request Form - Extender 10142022(2)” found in the following folder Department of Revenue (DOR)
Page 1: Must be completed and signed by the Supervisor.
Page 2: Under DRIVES, Security Groups: Type “CVS DRIVES App and All Access CVT" in the box.
Step 5 -- You or the Supervisor must email the completed Access Form AND proof of training completion to the appropriate Authorized Approvers.
Click on Authorized Approvers to see who needs to sign for the requested security groups.
For this process only, you can ignore the instructions at the top of page 1 to send the access form to OIT. The access will be managed internally by the ISD/DRIVES User Support Team.
Step 6 -- The Authorized Approver will review the request and respond within 24 working hours. Once the Authorized Approver signs the Access Request Form, the Authorized Approver will:
Email the signed DOR Access Request Form to the requester for their records.
Email the signed DOR Access Request Form to the ISD/DRIVES User Support Team (dor_drives_prod_traininghelp@state.co.us).
Step 7 -- The ISD/DRIVES User Support Team will take the following action within within one business day of receiving the signed form:
Create a ServiceHub ticket and add the approved DRIVES access.
Send an email to the person submitting the request and to the user receiving the access informing them that the access has been added.
Step 8 -- FCR Access is different from DRIVES Lower Environment Access. You must have access to DRIVES Lower Environments prior to receiving access to FCR.
If you have ever requested or had access to FCR, please try to log in using the DRIVES Web Links. You may still have access and do not realize it.
If you have access, go to Part 3.
If you have never requested access or are unable to log in, go to Step 9.
Step 9 -- The Supervisor will need to submit the request for FCR access using the DRIVES FCR Access Request form. This form is located under DRIVES links (must be connected to VPN to access).
If this form is not submitted by the Supervisor, the request will be denied. The requester will be notified via email.
Make sure training is completed prior to submitting the request for FCR access.
Step 10 -- The ISD/DRIVES Delivery Team will review the request for FCR access.
Verify if DRIVES Lower Environment Access is active.
If not, the requester will be notified to follow Step 1 of this process.
Confirm training completion with the LMS Admin for State Testers.
Once confirmation that DRIVES Lower Environment Access is active and training has been completed, the vendor will be notified that FCR access has been approved.
The vendor will set up FCR access. You will receive a separate email with your FCR credentials and a link to the FCR login page once the request has been processed.
Step 11 -- Once you have met all requirements to become a DRIVES Tester:
You agree to actively participate in SQR testing at least every 90 days.
You understand that if you are not participating in SQR testing, the access will be removed.
You agree to keep your DRIVES Lower Environment and FCR Access current by logging in at least every 90 days.
You agree to notify dor_dmv_county_lms@state.co.us if there is a change to your role and you no longer need FCR or DRIVES Lower Environment access.
