Racial Advantages: Hover, Amorphous
Racial Disadvantages: Elemental Weakness(Purity), Elemental Weakness(Light), Mute
Possession X Minutes: Each day, a Shade may spend up to X minutes possessing one or a number of items. Possessing someone requires a Personality roll, with a difficulty that varies depending on what they are trying to possess or whether they are trying to possess a character. To possess a character, they must touch them, and both make personality rolls, with the opponent getting a +4 to their roll. If the shade is successful, they control them for up to a number of minutes they expend on the attempt, using their stats and skills. A failed attempt uses up 1 minute of possession time. At the end of each minute, the shade must make the possession roll again, with a failed attempt meaning the loss of a minute. They may attemtp to try again until all of their minutes are up or they are successful, or they may choose to leave then and keep their remaining minutes. The GM should determine a possession difficulty for objects, as well as what a shade can do while possessing an item, though most of its functions should be available to the shade. While a Shade is possessing a character, they are no longer mute unless the possessed character is also mute. Any damage that is considered "self-inflicted" by the shade while the shade is still in control is taken out of the shade's HP pool rather than the victim's. Self inflicted damage is partially up to the GM's arbitration, but a shade jumping with their possessed victim off a cliff or hitting themselves with their own weapon or spell is considered self-inflicted, as is any damage taken if the shade chooses to put themselves in the way of an attack(doing so would make the roll to hit easier than the passive defense value), but damage from a character attacking the victim after the victim had infuriated them would not be considered self-inflicted.
Retention +X: For the next hour after a Shade's last successful possession, they may retain bonuses to skill rolls based on what they last possessed. If they possessed a character, they may distribute +X as general bonuses to skill rolls, so long as they don't place more than the victim's skill level as a bonus in that skill. For example, a victim with 2 in Martial Arts and 3 Gym could provide up to +2 to Martial Arts and +3 to gym rolls for the next hour for the Shade, assuming they have a high enough level of this ability. If the last thing possessed was an item, the GM decides to what the bonuses apply and at what levels. The GM can deem that they provide more specific rolls, or rolls to attacks or distraction attempts.
