THE EDGE OF EXTINCTION IS CROSSED. THE ROAR OF EXTINCTION BEGINS.
I awaken, screaming and sweating. Cast down by the seraph, my ashes make footprints.
I walk a new plane, a strange plane, a plane filled with wonders and ironies.
Ghosts of the past walk the plane with me, some are famous, some are infamous, more so than any living person could be.
Or so I thought.
They claim to make heroes. Magic is rich. I belong here.
My walk is joined by others who also left ashes.
A wukong with a foolish tongue and a skilled fist. He annoys me, but has redeeming qualities.
A human with dead stare and a steady hand. He is blunt, but I sense there is something about him that I cannot yet see.
A dark elf with a razor wit and a bitch's guile. I like her.
A knightmor, shaped like a woman's armor. Silent. Fascinating. It may inspire a song.
A divine. I call her Gumbie.
I have a bedroom. I share it with the steady-handed human. Food is easy to acquire. I have my guitar, my grimoire. I also have a money card.
I was called to be audience to Kasumi. A legend alive before me.
I am expected to be a student. I will be more than that.
First professor, Fenris, for magic. Another legend. Gorgeous. Genius. Terrifying. I will enjoy this class.
First lesson was elemental basics. Boring. I expect the next lesson to be more intense.
She gave us magical items. I received smokescreen stones, a useless magic bauble, a laser, a sonic spell scroll.
I also found a ticket to witness a tournament bout, and a picture of Fenris, which will be cherished with disdain.
Second professor, Hwang, for martial arts. He irritates me, but he is sincere enough to be tolerated.
Not interested. Got to punch something, so not totally boring.
Lunch period. Encountered something bizarre. A golem? An elemental? It is made of food. I cannot dislike this creature. I may write a song about it.
Met a typical dominion, with cronies, harassing a disconnected legion. Was about to smash his face, but Gumbie smashed his balls before I could. Satisfying.
Legion's name was Petunia. Cute and shy. Went outside to find a hive for her to join. Discovered that two queens walk this plane. Hemlock and Althea. Two legends. This cannot be coincidence. Took Petunia to Althea. They are happy.
Third professor, Darkrider, for history. Legendary vampire, with a line of willing thralls, despite his own objection. Amusing.
I learned that the Protectorate still troubles everyone. They will hear the roar in due time.
Gumbie is a valkyrie. Never heard of it. I wonder what it tastes like.
Fourth professor, Riley, for science. Old man. Loathsome, delightfully. His hand is metal, his words are cold. I shiver. Challenge. Excitement.
A simple task given, completed.
Fifth professor, an early-generation mecha, for mathematics. He barely works. The dark elf repaired his brain in time for the lesson's end.
Combining magical elements is natural for the weavers of dreams and nightmares.
Several times, I met Misa, a buxom, clumsy usagi who serves Fenris in mercantile enterprise. She identified my money card.
She also carries a strange book. It describes my powers and my persona in terms I cannot perceive. Fascinating.
After class sessions, I was robbed by a sneaky neko. Her name is Nyala, which is recorded nefariously.
She almost escaped, but a passing ogre, also robbed, helped us pursue.
I tracked her to the mall. There is a mall here, but more on that later. She used my card to buy a water gun. Vermin.
I followed her trail to the park, where another neko was shooting people with a water gun.
To lure the neko from hiding, the dark elf and I staged a false date. She was swooned by my serenade, which was to be expected.
The other neko was captured, and he led me to an underground tunnel, a maze flooded with a magical gas. As I delved the tunnel, my face grew neko whiskers. Foul magic, but not threatening.
At the end of the tunnel waited a sleeping nekodragon. I deftly distracted it using the laser I acquired from Fenris.
Behind the dragon, Nyala waited, arming a bomb filled with the foul gas. She was cornered and captured, and the dark elf disarmed her bomb. My followers agreed to take Nyala to a disciplinary committee, while I set my way to the mall in order to return the fraudulently purchased water gun, as well as to return the stolen money for the ogre.
(end session 1)
Left the other walkers behind. Returned to the mall with the stolen bounty. The ogre, Grak, and I, enjoyed the return of our stolen currencies.
With my wealth restored, I explored a music shop, interested in hearing the proud sonics this world of worlds could offer. I discovered melodies that bend the very fabric of nature to my whim... I look forward to expanding the possibilities of this power, but I need more wealth. The store recommended I search for gigs at a concert hall... Acceptable.
Joined by the illustrious Grak, I ventured to the concert hall. Along the way, I pulled out the whiskers. Annoying.
At the hall, I encountered a pair of ladies... One was a gorgon, very strong, impressssive cunning
