Special Abilities:
Spells X MP(Cascade): Scribes can cast spells costing up to X MP.
Restrictions: Scribes can learn and cast any spells, but summons require four talk actions instead of one to cast or add to a casting cascade.
Casting Cost: Scribe spells must be cast from scrolls that are treated with a number of ingredients worth $1 per 5 MP of spells scribed upon them. The maximum "length" of these scrolls is typically 500 MP.
Spell Alterations: None, save the ability of a scribe to perform a casting cascade. Scribes must keep note of what order they have written their spells in upon a scroll, however, as casting out of order will destroy the spells written before the one cast.
Casting Actions/Stat/Skill: One hand action and one talk action. Scribes may use their Language skill with either their Accuracy or Intelligence stat to overcome the casting difficulty of the spell. Scribes must prepare their spells in advance by writing their vocal components on a scroll(and preferably in the order they plan to cast them or on multiple smaller scrolls to avoid wasting them). This process takes 1 hand action per 5 MP of the spell's cost. When the spell is cast, the portion of the scroll the spell was contained on, as well as the scroll for any spells listed above it previously, are burned away. Scribes may also perform a casting cascade, in which case they declare that the initial casting action does not cast the spell. They may continue to read spells consecutively from the same casting scroll, and so long as the spells' total MP cost does not exceed the scribe's casting limit of X, they may spend an additional speak action to add an additional spell to their casting, choosing each time to unleash the spells they have stored or continue to burn spells off their scroll to add to the casting. If the scribe loses their speak action(through, for example, a precise critical hit) or spends their speak action doing anything other than adding more spells to their cascade, the casting fails and the scrolls of the spells that the scribe attempted to cast are lost. If the scribe attempts to add a spell to a cascade that would cause the spells' total MP to exceed the casting limit, the spells are all cast then. The scribe casts all the spells with the same roll. Each spell in the cascade then casts as though it were a separate spell, though if all the spells are focused on the same target(meaning the center for spells with an area of effect and that at least one of the targets are that target if a spell has multiple targets), the scribe gains a +1 to their casting roll for each additional spell past the first.
Learning spells: Scribes decide what spell they wish to learn ahead of time, then must spend at least one hour in a magical library in intense study. For every hour they spend, they may roll their intelligence. They may repeat this until the combined result is equal to or greater than the MP cost of the spell.
Magic Omnibus -X: Scribes learn a great deal about how spells work in their study, and can learn to allow spells to overlap when performing their cascade ability. The MP cost of spells after the first cast as part of the same cascade have their MP cost reduced by X. This ability cannot reduce a spell's MP cost below half its original cost.
