Special Abilities:
Concert X ($Y): Once per week, idols can earn additional money by putting on a concert. The amount of money that they make is a base of Y dollars, and is modified by the venue perform in and crowd they draw. They gain a +X bonus to all personality rolls made to secure a venue or draw a crowd.
Range Boost: At 6th level, the Idol's ability to project their voice is enhanced, changing their unassisted vocal range from 5 feet per 2 personality to 5 feet times their personality.
Specify Targets xX: When an idol casts a spell, if they have this ability, they may choose either to exclude X targets that would normally be in the area of effect for the spellcast, or to have the spell affect only X targets that are within the spell's area of effect.
Spells X MP(Song)
Restrictions: Idols can cast any spell that they have memorized or have in front of them, but cannot summon. The element of a spell they cast, however, will be altered.
Casting Cost: For most spells, an Idol should pay 1/5th the spell's cost within a week of casting that spell, as they must compensate the copyright holder. Idols may cast spells that they have written themselves (See: Learning spells) or public domain spells for free. A public domain spell is generally a more bland version of the spell in question, though, so all damage, beneficial effects, bonuses, or durations of the spell are cut in half (round down, to a minimum of 1 each time)
Spell Alterations: The element of Sound is added to any other elements the spell may have. The range of the spell is changed to the idol or the idol's amp, and the area of effect becomes either that of the Idol's voice or the amplification device the idol is using. The targets of the spell are switched to anyone within the area of effect who can hear. In addition, the effects of the spells may be lessened if the idol is using public domain music (See: Casting Cost).
Casting Actions/Stat/Skill: For every three consecutive rounds that the idol spends either a speak action singing or a pair of hand actions playing an instrument to cast the spell, the spell is cast one time. However, so long as the idol continues singing or playing the same song, it only counts as one casting of the spell for purposes of cost for up to four castings. After that, the spellcasting has ended and the idol must start again (incurring new costs, if applicable).
Idols may also spend their hand actions playing with an instrument(assuming they are not doing that as their method of spellcasting) or their movement dancing to reduce the difficulty of the spellcasting roll for 1 per hand action spent or 1 for every 6 move actions spent. These bonuses will accumulate until a casting roll is made, after which they are reset to 0.
The Idol uses her Music skill with her choice of Personality or Accuracy as the stat, but Accuracy is counted as 2 points less for the purposes of casting idol spells. An idol may not perform multiple spellcastings simultaneously. Instead, their actions may be spent decreasing their spellcasting roll, as described above.
Learning spells: Idols learn songs by singing them. Once they have sung(and cast) the song a number of times equal to 12 minus their Accuracy stat (minimum of 2), they have memorized the song and no longer need reference to sing it. In addition, idols may also write songs of their own. To do this, they must spend an amount of time equal to ten minutes times the MP cost of the spell writing the song, then pay a cost equal to double the spell's listed cost to register a copyright on the spell. They memorize the song as soon as they have written it, but the song has no magical effects until the song's copyright fees have been paid. Other students may use the idol's song, but they must still pay the cost as this is one of the ways in which an idol gains their weekly pay.
Voice Range: Idols have the power to channel the spells they cast through the songs they sing. The effective range for their songs is determined by their level and personality score. At 1st level, they can channel their magic a range equal to 5 ft. x half their personality score(rounded down). At 6th level, the range increases to 5 ft x their personality score. If the Idol is able to use a device that can boost its singing range, the Idol may use the device's range instead of its own.
Special-Duets: Idols may perform with two singers who both know or have access to the song. In this case, the cost is split between the idols, or if the song belongs to one of the idols, no cost is paid. The spell is only cast once, but the idols may switch off between who is singing and dancing as they please, so long as the necessary number of actions is used. At this point, both idols make their casting roll, and so long as either of them is successful, the spell is cast with whichever idol is successful (you may choose who "casts it" if both make successful rolls)
