Special Abilities:
Inspirational Element: When a Mahoutechnician gains this ability, they choose an element. Anything they build using their mahoutechnician abilities is considered to be that element, including damage it deals.
Mahoucite Patch X: When the engineer's vehicle has taken critical damage, the mahoutechnician may use a molten form of Mahoucite, which costs $100 per application, to patch the system in a way that leaves it mostly usable. Doing so requires two hand actions. Once per minute(starting with the first round the system is used), whoever first rolls to use the system must make an unskilled personality roll, with the difficulty equal to one third the repair difficulty for the system, rounded down. The engineer takes priority for this roll if multiple characters use the system simultaneously. If the roll is successful, the system works normally for the next minute. If the roll is failed but the result of that roll is not 1, the system acts as though it is nonfunctioning(but not as if it had just taken the damage) for the turn, but the roll may be made again next turn. If the roll's result is 1, treat it as though it had failed, but another roll cannot be made for 1 minute. The Engineer may maintain X total Mahoucite Patches at once. When the system is fully repaired, the Engineer regains the molten mahoucite patch mix.
Battery Construction X: Mahoutechnicians may create batteries made of mahoucite that channel and store MP energy. These batteries hold 5 MP per dollar spent in crafting them, with a maximum of X dollars in a single battery. They take 1 hour per dollar spent on their crafting. A mahoutechnician may charge their batteries by spending their own MP and a single hand action, they may charge mahoutechnican-built mahoucite batteries at a rate of X per turn. Anyon else who can channel MP into devices, such as biowarp mages, may do so, but they only store 1 MP into the battery for every 2 MP they spend, and they do so at a rate of half their personality score, rounded down. The MP stored in these batteries can be used to power mahoutech systems such as biowarp controls on vehicles, with a maximum MP spent per battery equal to X, and each MP thus expended granting the ship 5 MP of power. Only one battery may be hooked up to each set of biowarp controls. Hooking it up in this manner takes four hand actions.
Charge Boost +X: When a Mahoutechnician crafts a weapon or armor, they may add an additional $100 to the base cost to add a mahoucite battery slot to the item, as well as +X in superior quality enhancements that may be powered by that slot. The item's user may spend 3 MP of a battery's charge times any of the installed enhancements' total superior quality enhancement bonuses to activate them for the turn. This may be done as a reaction. Individual enhancements can be chosen if this is done as the item is used or on its user's turn, but if done as a reaction all of them must be used. The superior enhancements granted by this ability stack with and are not included in the cost calculations for normal superior quality enhancements. A mahoutechnician may transplant a battery slot to a different item(so long as the superior quality enhancements are compatible with the new item) by spending a number of hours equal to the slot's total bonus.
Creative Surge +X: Whenever a Mahoutechnician is building an item using the science skill for which they do not have the blueprints, they get a +X to their crafting rolls.
