Special Abilities:
Elemental Harness X MP: Calculators can use this ability to alter the magical etherscape, diminishing the effectiveness of certain spells while enhancing others. Once per turn, they may spend up to X MP on swaying the elemental balance of a 100-foot radius centered around them. This requires a single hand action to perform. By default, the etherscape is considered to have an elemental sway rating of 0 for all elements. For every 5 MP spent, they may choose a single element. They may choose the same element multiple times if they wish. This element becomes bolstered by +1, and the element opposite the chosen element becomes diminished by -1. If the area affected overlaps a zone of faith for a deity with that element as an aspect, the bolstering and diminishing are increased to +2 and -2, respectively. Spells of any element have their sway rating subtracted from the difficulty to cast that spell and added to the damage they do. Spells that heal have their elemental sway rating added to the amount they heal. The effects occur within the area affected by the ability, so a spellcaster who casts a spell from inside the zone gains the sway rating effect on their casting roll, but a target outside the area would not be affected by the additional or lessened damage or healing. There is no limit to the amount that an element may be swayed, but to alter it further than 10 requires a math/intelligence roll equal to the current sway rating(the positive one) to be successful, or the MP is wasted. After ten minutes of remaining unmanipulated, an area of magical sway dissipates and all of its sway values reset to 0.
Calculators can also use their abilities to produce a magical storm of a specific element, but only once it has been sufficiently swayed. By spending 5 MP of their ability times up to the elemental sway rating of an element with a positive sway rating, they may deal 1d6 added damage for every 5 MP spent to all targets in an AoE with a radius of between 5' and 20' and a range of 80'. This damage may be avoided with an oppose roll equal to 5+ the sway rating when the ability is used. Using the ability lowers the sway rating by an amount equal to 1 for every 5 MP spent on this ability, and raises the sway rating of the opposite element by the same amount.
Identify Weakness X: X times per encounter, a calculator may choose one stat or skill. With a simple glance over the area, they can determine which sentient character or characters share the lowest rating of that stat or skill. They aren't given the rating of that stat or skill, just the knowledge of which character has that at its lowest rating. Animals aren't included in this examination, and if the calculator spends an extra charge of this ability on the same stat or skill, they can then determine who has the second-lowest and so on.
