Special Abilities:
Strikecharge Mana Crystal X: Legion Battlers may imbue mana crystals with their combat expertise, choosing a total of up to X to split between to-hit and damage. The split between to-hit and damage is chosen when the battler levels, but a battler can create a weaker crystal with any combination of to-hit and damage up to the values they have chosen. The crystal has a drain of X times 2 when used and provides its benefits to a single attack. It must be activated before the attack is rolled.
Vine Weapon +X/+Y: A Legion Battler can transform one or more of their hands into a Vine Weapon, a special kind of melee weapon. At first level, a Battler selects two melee weapons, one designated as a primary and one as a secondary, and acquires a copy of each weapon for each hand they have. These weapons are considered natural Legion weapons with no base value, and they cannot be sold. Each copy of the primary weapon receives +X superior quality enhancements, and each copy of the secondary weapon receives +Y superior quality enhancements, all of which must be assigned when they are acquired. If the Vine Weapons receive quality enhancements from another source, they will apply normally, but if multiple copies of the same enhancement exist on a Vine Weapon, only the copy with the highest level will function. Once a Vine Weapon's enhancements have been assigned, they cannot be changed. However, a Legion Recruiter may use the Nanitic Rewrite ability to reset one of the Vine Weapons, either the primary or the secondary, allowing the Battler to change their weapon selection and enhancement allocations.
If the Battler ever acquires a new hand, they also receive a new copy of each Vine Weapon. Each Vine Weapon copy is designated to a specific hand; if a Battler loses a hand due to traumatic damage or transformation, the Vine Weapon associated to that hand cannot be used until that hand is restored. Transforming a hand (or whatever is considered the Battler's hand) into a Vine Weapon, a Vine Weapon back into a hand, or a Vine Weapon into another Vine Weapon costs that hand's action for the round. Once a Vine Weapon is formed, it cannot be dropped by the Battler; it can only be withdrawn by transforming. A hand cannot transform into a Vine Weapon if it is currently holding another item or weapon, grappling, or performing another action. However, a hand can transform while grappling if the target Vine Weapon has grappling capability.
Each individual copy of each Vine Weapon can be upgraded with additional quality enhancements like a normal Legion weapon by spending Mana. However, a Vine Weapon cannot be enchanted or have gem slots. If a Recruiter uses Nanitic Rewrite to reset a Vine Weapon, the Battler will be refunded for half the Mana spent to add enhancements to each copy of that weapon. Additionally, any spell that is cast on the Battler's hand or Vine Weapon will apply to all Vine Weapons associated with that hand.
Melee Injection X: Up to X times per encounter, a Battler may trade off damage to an opponent that they have struck with their Vine Weapon with charges of the Legion Conversion ability without spending one of their daily uses of that ability. The amount of damage that they can trade is equal to their target's defense score, and this damage must be done after soak is considered. For example, a Battler with this ability who deals 25 damage to a target with 7 defense may trade 7 damage for Legion Conversion charges up to three times, for a total cost of 21 of the damage they have dealt, with the remaining 4 damage being dealt to the target. These charges are not all applied at once, however, with one charge being applied per round on your first full turn of the round. The Legion Conversion charges will stack with other Legion Conversion charges you have applied, and its process is considered uninterrupted so long as the opponent is affected by at least one of these charges per round.
Armor-Piercing Vines +X: Whenever a battler's vine weapon strikes an opponent, their soak is immediately reduced by X. This ability has no effect if the target has no soak remaining.
