Welcome to MSF High! On this site, you can find all of the rules you need to create and play as a character in MSF High! With these same basic rules, a GM should be able to run a game, but they will likely want a copy of the Player's guide and the GM's guide, which will become available as soon as possible, to help them understand the setting and how the game is meant to be run. Until then, please enjoy this guide and let me know in the www.msfhigh.com forums what you think about the rules and setting!
Getting Started: If you're new to the system, you should probably read up on the Rules, then try to make a character using the Character Creation section.

Updates:
11/20/2013: Changed Mage facet to give them Spell Boosting abilities, to make them stand out as a more versatile and creative casting facet. Also added information on Spell Boosting, which allows one to alter the properties of a spell to create new spells. This is in preparation for a huge overhaul of the spellbook. Currently spells deal so little damage that they are hardly worth their costs. That should change in the next few updates. Ideally, a spell should deal around 1.5x its MP costs in damage to a single target at a reasonable range.
11/23/2013: Significantly added to the Scientist facet. The nature of devices and how they are built has been greatly expanded, as has the "size" under the scientists' abilities. Scientists can now build power plants that generate MP per day, and they can pick types of clothing, armor, or weapons to be able to attach spells and power plants to. Further playtesting will be needed to ensure the costs are fair for these pieces of equipment.
1/9/2014: Uploaded the new clothing list and changed the rules to show how armor now works. Also added rules for adding enhancements of various natures to clothing, weapons, and shields. Added a shield section and changed shields to give them a soak rating that adds to a character's soak for the round when used to defend. Changed the soak rules to the new ones, where a character only gets a single soak roll per turn. Considering allowing a character to use a partial action from 11+ initiative to refresh their soak. Going to allow playtesters to time-skip a bit, to deal with both money things and allowing the players to distribute their free time.
1/11/2014: Added mechanics for Jobs and spending Free Time under the "Other Rules" section, and Idol concerts as a sub-page under Idol.
1/18/2014: Added basic descriptions for all of the eventual faction book facets here. Feel free to suggest which one you would most like to see statted out AND described.
1/24/2014: Added the Djinni race and the Shieldmaiden and Sorcerer facets.
1/28/2014: Changed the Combat section to reflect the new passive/active defense rules, changed how 2-handed items work. Altered sneaking/hiding rules, added tracking rules. Made innumerable bugfixes and typo corrections in many sections. Clarified rules in warrior and martial artist.
1/31/2014: Numerous more fixes, mostly changing race text to reflect the new Active/Passive defenses. Added Sample Difficulties chart to the Other Rules section. Cursed at Google Sites' table pasting idiocy.
2/5/2014: More miscellaneous fixes, including a change to the Extra Run Speed advantage, to prevent kick spam abuse.
8/8/2014: New Armshifter race, a few more fixes and info on subraces on the main race page, as well as character sexualities added to the character creation section.
8/11/2014: Added the Envoy facet.
8/13/2014: Added the Philosopher and Trainer facets and the Faith rules in the "Other Rules" section.
8/17/2014: Added the Cavalier and Charmer facets and the Android race.
8/22/2014: Added info on Spellbooks and added the cosplay outfit rules to the Nerd facet.
