Badge Requirements

Bronze

1) Share THREE rules with your Akela about how to keep yourself and other archers safe while doing this sport.

2) Learn how to do archery under a qualified instructor and share with your Akela and friends what you have leaned from them.

3) Participate in a friendly competition and keep a record of your 3 highest scores. (Aim to better these scores the next time you participate.)

Note: To be conducted by a qualified instructor. Cub Scout Leaders must ensure adequate arrangements have been made for the safety of the Cub Scouts and that the activity is properly supervised.}

Silver

1) Complete any THREE requirements in this section:

• Name two different types of bows used in archery. 

• Draw and label the different parts of a bow and arrow that you typically use.

•  Besides a bow, name two other pieces of equipment required for archery. What is their purpose?

•  Demonstrate safe usage of your equipment and how to keep it.

• What type of shoes should be worn during archery and why? 

2) Complete ALL requirements in this section:

• Name 3 safety rules to observe pre-firing.

• Name 3 safety rules to observe during firing.

• Name 3 safety rules to observe when retrieving arrows.

3) Complete any TWO requirements in this section:

• "Keep your arrow in your quiver until you are told to shoot." Do you agree? Why?

•  "Always keep your arrows pointed down or towards the target. Shoot only at your target." Do you agree? Why? 

• Why is it important to follow all commands while practicing archery?

4) Complete ALL requirements in this section:
