"Being a student at the New School, I have access to so many professional industry standard resources. I realize that many independent musicians in New York do not have the privilege of full access to recording studios, despite their talent or merit. Having experience recording in studios, and being a New School student, I am put in a unique position: to be able to offer rising independent artists the opportunity to have their work professionally recorded and engineered free of cost. There are so many deserving musicians in New York who are unable to afford time at a professional studio. “Sonic Sessions: A Collaborative Recording Project” gave 3 artists in New York access to recording sessions and engineering without a paywall. In this Independent Study Capstone project, I worked with independent artists and gave their stories and art a platform.
