I’m always trying to understand. Understand situations, words, gestures, why things happen... The answer is never clear though, and I send myself in obsessive spirals of trying to understand. With this work, I don’t think there was much of a spiral for me to be absorbed into. My understanding of it was immediate, before the work really began. This project and work is a mirroring of my attempt to relate to and with the world, myself, and others during this time of isolation and confusion we’re experiencing. Even though I understand (or I think I do on a basic level), everything still feels too far up in the air for it to reveal itself. This work is a way for me to name my understanding.
