I find myself most curious about the context, knowledge, and energy in audiences & spaces. As I move through multiple rhythms, speeds, levels, and angles, I care about making genuine connections, with viewers through eye contact, sound, movements. I subtly and gently welcome people into a process, whatever my current research be about––realness, play, language, form, style, belonging, joy, pedagogy, social archive, memory, transmission. I could start my dance with a bang or casually walk in, or not start. I might take up the whole space I have and push past it, or stay in clear lines. The lines of my body can flow and extend beyond or end at a small point internally. Anything you’ll see and hear is intentional even if it wasn’t rehearsed… I’m still learning how to explore ideas in this body, space, time continuum. But it is all why I love dance.
