Project Description

A Handbook For Understanding Seeds is a digestible guide revealing the relationship, reflections, and interdependencies of seed health, spirituality, and art.

What Form will your Final Project Take?

Internship, job, volunteer opportunities, community

Who was supporting you in your work?

Anjali, Kristin Reynolds, Bhawani V, Mia White. Anjali helped me conceive, shape, reshape, and execute this project at an emotional and technical level. Other professors, Krisitn, Mia, Bhawani contributed to the project with their insight and academic knowledge.

Project Themes:

Research, Creative, Social Justice, Environmental, spiritual, reflective

How has this project has been impactful or transformative?

As I conclude this project, I feel closer to peace, as I am constantly reminded of the capacity that humans and seeds alike have for pain and awe; motion and stillness; emptiness and fullness. Through the stories that have been shared with me, I have hope for the state of the world and our collective ability to heal. There are many portals to nourishment and love, as I have found this motivation through grassroots community environmental and food equity work on organic farms and gardens. This work allows me to connect to a force of good beyond tangible achievements and material possessions

What would you do differently?

I took time after graduation to complete this project - I used my grant money to travel and visit farms and other environmental sites. I would recommend this to everyone and it allowed me to evolve my project in a mature way and continuously reflect and edit. I needed the space after the stress of gradation to make this something I am super proud of and want to share with the world.

Short summary of your experience:

My experience over the past seven months working on this project have been profound and full of connection and love and tenderness. I have learned more about the earth and its systems, as well as myself and community. I could not have asked for more.
