Vamos a Mi Casa

The one truth I know is that I am a dancer. I love storytelling and recently have been creating my own soundscapes to pair with movement. I capture sounds from the mundane to the familiar; the early morning birds, my dog panting, the waves crashing, or the voices of family members around the dinner table. I’m a maximalist and eccentric; my movement reflects the speed and rhythm of my brain . When creating art I’m deeply influenced by my nerdish tendencies and pull from fantasy, sci fi, and anything magical. Growing up 15 minutes from the Mexican-American border I was always surrounded by my culture, but having since moved away for school I was able to appreciate my home in a new light that I carry through all my art. The landscape I grew up in is seeped in latinidad and a place I seek comfort through movement. My existence represents where the desert meets the sea.
