Intent for 2022/23 -
The Design and Technology curriculum map has been broken down into the essential steps for design: Design, Make and evaluate. The specific skills have been allocated through the different year groups to ensure coverage and progression. These include: construction, textiles, electronics and food and nutrition. Also some consideration is given products and designers. This is all based on the Key Stage 2 Design and Technology curriculum.
Actions identified from 21/22 Impact Review
PROMOTE: Allow the subject more visibility by creating a working wall of DT work to show Age-related good examples. trial in year 4 teaching once a week and once a term, which will give the pupils time to reflect on their design and makes.
EQUIP: Appropriateness and availability of equipment and tools. Aim to ensure good equipment to allow children to complete DT work to a good standard
DESIGN - MAKE - EVAULATE : Year groups continue to develop the approach of design, make and evaluate across books through their work.

DT working wall with examples of good ARE work from years 3, 4 and 5. Next step to add pictures or acutal tools used to make products and perhaps narrations from children explaining work.

Through commmunication with year group leaders, the following rescources have been identified and purchase
Construction: new junior hacksaw blades, sandpaper, t-squares for holding wood in place - to support year 6 construction project
Cooking: 5 new saucepans to aid with cooking and mixing ingredients. Used in Year 4 with cooking biscuit project
