March 2023
Crumble Controllers - Day 1!
Our first 'physical programming' lessons took place w/c 16th May 2022.. As time is limited, I took a different approach by saying very little at the start of the lesson - then the children just worked their way through the NCCE slides at their own pace via Google Classroom.
Some children struggled, but were immediately obvious to me so support could be given quickly.
Some children diligently went through the slides and made steady progress.
Some children, having had a first 'sniff' of success were immediately curious to experiment with variations of the same task or to try and introduce new components and made very good progress.
This is an approach I will try again as it is a good fit for this type of learning.
Pupils were asked to input their views on computing in Little Green including: what they enjoy about computing and how it could be made better.
Year 5 and 6 views on what they find fun about computing: Year 5 -6 pupil voice
Year 3 and 4 views on what to improve about computing: Year 3 and 4 pupil view
