Researching Music at Little Green
Intent
At Little Green, we strive to help children to become more confident musicians. This includes teaching them to sing, listen, compose and perform. We aim to give the children opportunities to broaden their knowledge of music from history, develop understandings of different genres and learn how to appreciate pieces of music, looking specifically at the different instruments used and the texture it creates.
Implementation
The main four areas that have been slowly implemented across the school for the past three years have been singing, listening, composing and performing.
Looking to the future, we will be building on loosely using the Model Music Curriculum, as it gives clear guidance on how to build musical skills within each year group.
