Assessment Data Headlines
(DATA ASKS QUESTIONS!)
Strengths and Areas to investigate further:
Strengths:
Across the school the number of age related children is between 70-80%.
The number of greater depth children varied between year groups.
In some year groups there was an increase in the number of greater depth children between Autumn and Spring. This was due to the skills and topics that were covered in each term.
Areas to investigate further:
Assessment in art. How are we assessing art?
Is there a progression in skills AND knowledge from Year 3 to 6?

Pupil Book Study
(WITH the pupils using considered questioning)
Strengths and Areas to investigate further:
Strengths:
The children were proud to share their sketchbooks and confidently talked about the topics they had covered this year. Most of the children could explain some of the skills they had learnt e.g Year 3 shading-light and dark, adding texture. Year 4- slip and score.
The children described art as: relaxing, creative, opportunity to express yourself, calming, story of life, peaceful
Areas for improvement
Year 3 children thought sketchbooks were mostly for drawing. Year 4 explained that they were for practising skills. Therefore a teacher CBD is needed in Autumn 2022 to demonstrate the expectations and use of sketchbooks.
