We are currently engaged with thinking around buiding even more CURIOSITY into our curriculum.
When you think about it, the benefits of curiosity to a child, community and society are significant. Curious learners promote being:
Open Minded
Critical Thinkers
Learners
Engage in Professional Development
Develop their own Voice
Speak truth to power/ Read beyond headlines
Tolerate and engage with other views
Are non-judgmental
Non-prejudiced
Think about what is best - morality
Underpin an effective democracy - a democracy of thoughtful powerful voices
As a school, our approach to Curriculum (which we see as everything) has been to model the model and BE CURIOUS too:
WHAT are we doing? WHY are we doing it? HOW should we do it? WHO should be doing it?
All of these questions DEMAND that we engage with as many voices, ideas, research, experience and local knowledge as possible to ensure that , as a community, we have the best ideas and practice for our children - our community legacy! With all of that in mind, do have a look at the Curriculum developments the school has been working through over the last few years AND be confident that we are continually driving developments to ensure the best practice and experience for your children!
