Learning EXPERIenCE
Students started with an introduction lesson to WeVideo, a platform they had never used before. Then they worked with a partner to pick a famous person to research for Czech, Italian, and Polish American Heritage and Culture Month. Once students researched their person they collaborated to create their presentation on WeVideo. After their projects were finished they practiced their oral presentation skills so they would be ready to present their projects. Students were paired with K-4 classes to go present their projects to other students in the school.
What students like about this experience:
"I learned how to collaborate with a team to create a video by using research." - Nazaret
"The best part of the experience was sharing our videos with the Kindergarteners." - Autumn
What the teacher likes about this experience:
I could see my students were really developing collaboration skills to create videos that required them to learn new information about various countries but also, how much they enjoyed sharing their videos with the other students. - Jo Collier
Additional Pictures/Media/ARTIFACTS
We first learned about WeVideo and how to use this digital learning tool.
After researching we started working with our partner to create our project.
Editing on WeVideo is important.
We had to remember our audience was K-4th graders so we had to write it so they could understand.
Each group got to go to a younger classroom and present their project.
We enjoyed teaching others about the people we learned more about.
It was fun presenting to others.
