Learning EXPERIenCE
We researched historical African Americans who contributed a major breakthrough Black History in the form of science, technology, engineering, art, or math. Among those innovators are: George Washington Carver, Madam CJ Walker, Garrett Morgan, Alice Parker, and Ben Carson. Each of us designed a project inspired by their work to show what their legacy of innovation means to us in today's time. We will present our research and projects as a live interactive museum.

What Ms. Cheatham likes about this experience:
I like the Henrico 21 experience because it gives students the chance to think critically and creatively to produce their own ideas and designs based off their research! We’ve had the chance to collaborate with one another and our amazing ILC, Ms. Anderson, over the past few weeks and our students have been able to communicate what they want their research to reflect. They’ve gained a lot of quality character skills including confidence, accountability, responsibility, and school pride to name a few. These skills will help them tremendously when they transition to the 6th grade in the fall!
