Selen joined BIS HCMC in August 2024 as a teacher of IB Economics. She began her career as an economist for the Turkish government but soon realised she preferred discussing inflation with teenagers more than bureaucrats—so she became a teacher. With over ten years of experience across international schools in Brazil, Germany, Malaysia, and Turkey, Selen has taught IB, A-Level, and IGCSE Economics and has served as Head of Economics. She is fluent in English, Turkish, and German, and is passionate about character development and student wellbeing.

Outside the classroom, Selen enjoys yoga and dancing to anything with a beat. She is delighted to be part of the BIS community and looks forward to making economics both meaningful and enjoyable for her students."
