Carla joined BIS HCMC in August 2024 as a teacher of Mathematics, having previously taught at international schools in Shanghai and Singapore. Growing up in Brisbane, Australia she initially pursued a career in sales and marketing before deciding to make the switch to mathematics, an area that has always been a passion for her. After upgrading her mathematical skills at university and obtaining her teaching diploma, Carla was lucky enough to secure her first international teaching post. Carla thoroughly enjoys the relationships she is able to develop with her students. She places great emphasis on building student’s self belief and employs strategies that promote positive social learning opportunities. Carla is an outdoors person who enjoys steep hikes and surf beaches. She also enjoys watching sport, especially when her two children are competing. Carla generally reads non-fiction and watches news, however will always find time for a good comedy or reality singing show.
