Macarena joined BIS in January 2024. She studied a double degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education at Universidad Católica de Valencia and later completed a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Her international experience includes six months of full-time training at Käpylän Peruskoulu in Helsinki, gaining valuable insights from Finland’s world-renowned education system, followed by two years teaching at Everest Academy in Manila, and later at an Instituto Cervantes accredited centre in Spain before moving to Vietnam. Macarena is passionate about play-based learning and creating warm, supportive environments where children feel confident to explore. Outside the classroom, she enjoys travelling, discovering new cuisines, spending time with friends, and exploring different cultures. Since moving to Vietnam, she has also happily embraced the recent pickleball culture.
