Gareth joined BIS HCMC in August 2024, having previously been Head of Performing Arts at The ABC International School, HCMC since 2011. Gareth was born and raised in Cornwall where he sang as a chorister. Whilst studying Music at Cardiff University, he was excited to be a member of the Welsh National Youth Opera. After graduating, Gareth studied with Mollie Petrie and sang professionally for several years with Longborough Festival Opera, across the South of England and touring as a soloist in Germany under the baton of Stephen Jackson, the then leader of the BBC Singers. Since moving to Vietnam, Gareth has been a member of The International Choir and Orchestra of HCMC becoming their Artistic Director in 2016 - 2023. He was also Co-Chair of FOBISIA Music from 2016-2022. He enjoys travelling when possible, cooking and going on walks with his dog.
