Anna Chilton

English Teacher

BA (Hons) English First Class, University of Northumbria, UK

PGCE English With Drama, St Martin’s College, Lancaster University, UK

Anna joined BIS in 2023 as a teacher of English, having previously taught in the UK, Hong Kong and Thailand. From a young age Anna was an avid reader and it was this passion for literature that inspired her to pursue a career in teaching. A firm believer that reading builds not only a child’s vocabulary but their empathy, logic, common-sense and self-esteem, Anna is passionate about her subject and believes that the ability to get lost in the pages of a book remains an important life skill. As well as helping students to develop a love of reading, Anna also enjoys teaching debate, creative writing and media analysis. In her spare time, Anna still loves to read, with a particular focus on stories with unreliable narrators. She also loves travel, the cinema and spending time with family.
