Robert, who joined BIS in 2018 as an EAL teacher, hails from Staffordshire in the UK. His teaching career started in Colombia in 1994 as an assistant English language teacher at a university, igniting his passion for education. Upon returning to the UK, he pursued the CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults), enriching his pedagogical skills. His ESL/ESOL teaching journey spanned diverse settings in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam. He attained professional growth by completing the Cambridge Young Learner Extension Course (YL Ext. CELTA) and Trinity College London’s Diploma in TESOL. Recently, he completed the TESMC (Teaching ESL Students in Mainstream Classrooms) course and is currently pursuing an iPGCE with Derby University. In his leisure time, Robert enjoys golf, running, and football. He has co-run an after-school football club for four years, cultivating leadership skills and bringing smiles to disadvantaged children from the community partner school during training and games with BIS students, a truly rewarding experience.
