John joined BIS in 2012 from the United Kingdom. He trained to be a teacher in Birmingham but swiftly moved to the countryside of Somerset in England and decided to live by the beach. He loves the outside and going out in all sorts of weather. He is a third culture kid and has lived in many places around Europe, including the French Alps, central Germany, northern France and more places in England than he can count. Because of this, he loves languages, but for some reason the Vietnamese language continues to illude him. He first came out to Vietnam with his beautiful music teacher wife, and has now added two children to the mix, both of whom are enjoying learning at BIS – though they perhaps wish they didn’t have to see their dad every day. John loves getting to know all the different children in the school and is fascinated and constantly surprised by how different we all are.
