Ian Young

B.Ed. Social Studies and Special Education - University of British Columbia, Vancouver

Ian began his career in his home and native land of Canada. After graduating from UBC in 2006, he briefly worked at a small ASD school in Vancouver before taking over the new Skills Development Centre at a medium-sized independent school (KDHS) just down the road. After six wonderful years in Canada, Ian started his leadership journey, first as a SENCo in the UK and then as Head of Learning Support in Malaysia (Garden International School). In 2016, Ian joined BIS as Head of Secondary Learning Support and found his home in Vietnam. Five years later, in 2021, he was selected for the newly created position of Director of Additional Education Needs.

Like most Canadians, Ian is an accomplished ice hockey player and curler. He is passionate about music, reading and learning.
