Giulietta's House (Northern Italy 1918)

Today's discovery is an exciting one! Much of the action in this episode centers around Indy's girlfriend Giulietta's house and Indy's efforts to compete for her affection despite the efforts of competing suitor Ernie Hemingway (Jay Underwood). 

I always figured this was one location I was never going to find, as how exactly does one go about locating a house in a small town in the Italian alpine region? With very little information about the town of Feltre itself available how on earth was I going to find this? I also always assumed that the location was somewhere else entirely, with the landscape added digitally to the background (as this is something VERY commonly done on this show). 

After finding the location of Indy and Giulietta's hillside date by using the Castle of Alboin seen in the background, I knew this was a good landmark. Then I noticed in one angle of the house seen multiple times that the castle tower is indeed visible faintly in the distance. 

Aha! Well now I had a place to begin! By matching the angle of the buildings in the background I cound triangulate the position and at least get in the ballpark. And using the first screenshot above, I at least had an overhead angle to help while searching the satellite imagery. 

Then everything lined up and there it was! It becomes evident that at least the first shot was digitally altered to remove a side building that is visible in one wider angle (left of frame), and the garden was removed entirely:

Unfortunately since this is a private residence there is little hope for actual photos of it to clarify for certain, and the south face of the house seen in the show is obstructed from the road by trees. However, a view of the east side is visible on the hillside in Google Street View:

And the view from the street shows us the beginning of the wooded drive leading to the house that is visible in several shots of Indy and Ernie approaching the house:

The house is located just to the SW of the center of Feltre, at approximately Via Col dei Canturi, 14.
