For the traveling montage, Chandler Airfield in Fresno, CA was re-dressed as Mexico City Airport, but this scene was ultimately cut from the theatrical version. Glimpses of the actors here can be seen on the behind the scenes documentary.

The Nazca airport is Eagle Field, near Firebaugh, CA.

The Nazca town set was built on the Universal Studios backlot, between the Old Mexico & Wild West sets. It is currently still standing and can be seen on the Studio Tour.

The sanitarium interior & cell were built on Stage 29 of Universal Studios.

The Nazca cemetery was built on Stage 1 of Downey Studios.

The Russian camp was built on location on private land near Hilo, Hawaii. Stage 30 of Sony Studios was also used for this scene, likely for interiors of the tents.

The convoy driving scenes & chase sequence were filmed on location on private land near Hilo, Hawaii. Pick-ups were also done on Stage 42 at Universal Studios & Downey Studios.

The giant ants scene was filmed on the backlot of Universal Studios.

For the duck splashdown and river shots, the actors were filmed against the backdrop at Falls Lake in the Universal Studios backlot, which was later composited with a waterfall background.

The waterfall was actually a live-action plate of Iguacu Falls ("The Three Musketeers") on the borders of Paraguay, Argentina & Brazil. The duck was added digitally.

The base of the waterfall was filmed at Kulaniapia Falls on the big island of Hawaii.

The Akator temple sets were built at Downey Studios.

The temple staircase was built on the "Freeway Park" portion of the Universal Studios backlot. The top of the second temple with the stone pillar was here as well. Aerial shots were done digitally.

The giant spiral staircase was a set on Stage 27 of Sony Studios.

The wedding scene at the end of the film took place in First Christian Church of North Hollywood, which has been used in numerous other films. It is located at 4390 Colfax Avenue in Studio City (thanks to Iamnotastalker).
