Casting Time : 24 Hours
Range : Touch
Components : V, S, M (A humanoid skull, carved with runes and encrusted with powdered onyx worth 1,000 GP, consumed by the spell)
Duration : Until Dispelled
You touch a point and corrupt an area in a 1-mile radius circle. The ground and any non-magical plants become blackened and dead, and a faint orange mist fills the area. The affected area is subject to the following effects. The effects of overlapping areas of blighted earth do not stack.
First, undead are empowered while in the area. When an undead would regain hit points, they can roll twice and take the higher result. They have advantage on saves versus effects that adversely affect undead and resistance to radiant damage.
Second, any Small or larger creature that dies in the area rises as an uncontrolled zombie 24 hours later. This can be prevented by burning or dismembering the corpse.
Third, any creature that spends at least 1 hour in the area must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or gain the Plague of Undeath disease. It must repeat this save for every hour it spends in the area. After three successful saving throws, it is immune to the disease for 24 hours.
A dispel magic effect can only dispel a 30-foot radius circle's worth of blighted earth, with the radius increasing by 30 feet per spell level above 3rd. If dispel magic is cast at 7th level or higher, it removes the entire 1-mile radius.
Plant life cannot grow in the area of this spell. This effect remains even after the spell is dispelled.
