Magic Item Types

There are generally 2 types of magic items within the world of Azeroth: Permanent and Consumable. They both serve different functions and this section will quickly explain how each works.

Consumable : Consumable items are special items that have one use. These magic items are typically stuff such as potions, poisons, scrolls, and other such items.

Permanent : Permanent items are items that are often equipped and utilized without any fear of the item wearing off. These magic items are typically stuff such as weapons, armor pieces, wands and rods, and other trinkets. They also have subtypes, which is listed below. You can only have one item of the same subtype at a time.

The subtypes are listed below:

• Melee Weapon (Shield can take ether)

• Ranged Weapon

  • Wands take this slot

• Ammunition

• Explosive

• Armor

• Helmet

• Belt

• Boots

• Gloves

• Cloak

• Trinket (You can have 2 equipped)

• Ring (You can have 4 equipped)

• Necklace

• Attachment (Can be attached to a weapon/armor, but only one attachment may be on a piece at a time)

Item Level

Along with the Item Type, each item has a level from 1 to 8. A level 1 Magic Item is cheaper and easier to acquire then a level 8 item, but a level 8 item is significantly more powerful then a level 1.
