These death knights choose not to become masters of any one presence, instead focusing their powers on a balance between the three core presences of blood, frost, and unholy. Among death knights, they are often the deadliest spellcasters and are feared for their powers over death.
When you take this presence at 3rd level, instead of gaining a set list of presence spells that are added to your list of spells known, you instead choose two spells of a spell level you can cast from the Death Knight or Warlock spell lists and add them to your spells known. They count as death knight spells for you, do not count against your spells known, and once selected cannot be exchanged or forgotten.
You gain an additional 2 spells known at 5th level, 9th level, 13th level, and 17th level.
At 3rd level, when you spend runic power dice to use your Death Coil ability to deal damage, you can target two creatures in range. You must make separate attack and damage rolls for each.
Also at 3rd level, you learn the Shadow Bolt and Toll the Dead cantrips.
Beginning at 7th level, when you use your action to cast a cantrip or use Death Coil, you can make one weapon attack as a bonus action.
At 11th level, when you spend runic power dice on death coil, the dice increase to d8s. You can also fire a death coil dealing 2d8 necrotic damage without expending runic power dice, targeting up to two creatures in range. Additionally, necrotic damage you deal with death knight spells and abilities ignores necrotic damage resistance.
Starting at 15th level, your power over death mends your wounds in combat. You regain hit points equal to 1d6 + half your death knight level if you end your turn in combat with fewer than half of your hit points remaining and you aren’t incapacitated.
When you reach 20th level, you can harvest the souls of those who die in your presence. Whenever you bring a creature to 0 hit points, or when you use your reaction when a creature within 30 feet of you dies, you can absorb their soul into your rune weapon. When you do so, you heal yourself for an amount equal to twice your Death Knight level.
As long as you are alive, the creature cannot be brought back to life except by the wish spell.
