Warlocks that study destruction meddle with the metaphysical concept of destruction, willing to suffer backlash if they are better able to wreak havoc upon their enemies. They are happy to revel in the destruction they cause, thrilled at any opportunity to watch the world erupt in discord.
2nd-level Study of Destruction feature
Your area of study has given you additional spells to utilize against those foolish enough to be your foes. At the following Warlock levels, you gain the following spells, and they do not count towards your maximum number of Warlock spells known.
Warlock Level - Spells
2nd - Burning Hands, Chaos Bolt
4th - Flaming Sphere, Shatter
6th - Erupting Earth, Fireball
8th - Fire Shield, Wall of Fire
10th - Destructive Wave, Flame Strike
2nd-level Study of Destruction feature
You learn the Produce Flame cantrip, which you treat as a warlock cantrip and does not count against your cantrips known.
Additionally, you can magically ignite a flammable object you touch with your hand as an action.
2nd-level Study of Destruction feature
You can channel the double-edged power of hellfire into your spells. When you deal damage with a warlock spell, you can choose to take an amount of fire damage up to your warlock level. One target takes twice as much fire damage as you took.
6th-level Study of Destruction feature
When you cast a warlock spell using a Fel Sorcery spell slot that targets only one creature and doesn't have a range of self, you can expend a soul shard to target a second creature in range with the same spell.
10th-level Study of Destruction feature
When you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Intelligence modifier + your warlock level (minimum of 1).
14th-level Study of Destruction feature
You can overcharge the power of your spells with the power of fel flames. When you deal damage with a warlock spell cast using a Fel Sorcery spell slot, you can deal maximum damage with that spell.
The first time you do so, you suffer no adverse effect. If you use this feature again before you finish a long rest, you take 5d12 fire damage at the end of the current turn. Each time you use this feature again before finishing a long rest, the fire damage increases by 1d12. This damage ignores resistance and immunity.
18th-level Study of Destruction feature
You can conjure a meteor from the Twisting Nether as an action, causing it to appear in the air and crash down to a point you designate within 60 feet.
Creatures in a 30 feet radius of that point take 2d8 points of bludgeoning damage and 2d6 points of fire damage and the ground becomes difficult terrain. You can then choose to either detonate the stone, dealing 13d10 fire damage to all creatures within 30 feet of the point (Dexterity save for half damage), or you can animate it as an infernal. Infernals are seen on the Demonic Minions page.
The infernal rises from the crater at the end of your turn, following your commands (no action). It remains animated for 1 minute, or until killed or dismissed as a bonus action. When you dismiss the infernal, you can choose whether to merely dismiss it or force it to use its Death Burst ability.
Once you have used this ability, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
