• Bronze- winged jacana feeds on insects and other invertebrates picked from floating vegetation or water surfaces and also on seeds and shoots of water plants.
• They have huge feet and claws which enables them to walk on floating vegetation in shallow lakes which is their preferred habitat.
• They have a territorial sex role reversed system.
• They are polyandrous and the female are larger and more brightly coloured than their mate counter parts.
• The female compete with other females for harem of mates to incubate their clutches of eggs.
• Each female’s territory encompasses 1-4 males and their individual territories.
