• Free living freshwater flatworm commonly known as ‘Planaria’

• Body bilaterally symmetrical, dorso-ventrally flattened more or less transparent and differentiated into dorsal and ventral surface.

• Anterior end contains broad, bend triangular head.

• Midventrally a mouth with protrusible proboscis is present

• Head bears a pair of black eye spot and auricular lobes.

• Excretion with the help of photonephridia with flame cell.

• Very high power of regeneration.
