• Simple, Marine, Colonial, Sedentary sponge.

• Form simple and complex colony with numerous vase like projections.

• Internal canal system consists of Ostia, Spongocoel and Osculum.

• Body wall is thin with phacoderm and choanoderm.

• Presence of choanocytes or collar cells.

• Asconoid canal system is present.

• Feeding by means of canal system.

• Reproduction is by sexual and asexual methods with larval stage called

‘parenchymula'
