Ephelota gemmipara

• Marine, solitary, Stalked and ciliated protest.

• Body is vase like with a long stalk for attachment.

• Endoplasm contains contractile vacuole and dimorphic nuclear apparatus.

• Cilia are absent in adults but present during early development.

• Adults have 2 types of tentacles – Sucking tentacles and grasping tentacles. Sucking tentacles are provided with terminal sucking knots.

• Reproduce asexually by ‘Exogenous budding’
