Rabbit : Skull
• Dentition of rabbit is thecodont, heterodont, lophodont and diphyodont.
• Teeth are fixed in sockets of jaw bone, hence dentition is thecodont.
• Teeth are three functional type, namely incisor, pre – molar and molar hence heterodont dentition.
• Canine is absent hence there is a tooth less gap between incisor and pre – molar called diastema.
• Pre – molar and molar have broad crown with sharp transverse ridge, hence lophodont dentition.
• Two sets of teeth appear in life; hence it is adiphydont dentition.
