Causing the disease liver rot.

Digenetic parasite with sheep as primary host and pond snail as secondary host.

Body soft, dorso ventrally flattened with an anterior conical projection called ‘Oral cone’.

The oral sucker and ventral sucker (acetabulum) serves as adhesive organ for attachment to host.

Highly complex life cycle with 5 larval stages namely – Miracidium, Sporocyst, Redia, Cercaria and Metacercaria.
