Commonly called Scorpion, is a poisonous, ovoviviparous arthropod.

Predaceous carnivores, preying mostly on insect and spiders.

Body has 3 divisions- Prosoma, Mesosoma and Metasoma.

Each region is segmented.

Prosoma is dorsally covered by a ‘Carapace’ and ventrally by sternum.

Ventral prosoma bears eyes.

Seize the prey by their pedipals, paralyzing them by injecting venom.

Respiratory organs – book lung.

Excretory organs are Malpighian tubules and coxal glands.
