Skin has series of annular grooves.

In between eyes and nostril – a sensory apparatus.

Male has an eversible copulatory organ.

Exhibits parental care (Female remains coiled around the egg until hatching).

Compressed head, absence of functional eyes, limbs and tail are adaptations for fossorial life.
