It is possible to request shift cover or a shift trade with another member of the team, but this must be authorised by Jaimie / Steph. Please note that shift cover or shift trading will not always be available, and can only be offered in certain circumstances.
Shift Cover
If you require a day off / holiday on a day the holiday calendar advises is full, we may be able to offer shift cover. When sending your request, you can ask if shift cover is an option first as it may be over allocated / too short to cover. You will be required to get your full shift covered by another member of the team. One this has been done, you will be asked to request the holiday / update your availability as appropriate (remember to still send the corresponding email) and for this to be approved.
Shift Trade
You may want to swap a shift with someone to get a day off / holiday. Again, this must be authorised by Jaimie / Steph, so don't look for anyone to swap with until this has been OK'd. Once you have found a person to swap with, you will be asked to complete the shift trade through Dayforce.
Once you know your shifts, you may need to obtain shift cover for a future shift. You can offer to swap a shift with another member of the team, or you can put your shift out for trade if you do not have anyone to swap with.
On the employee calendar, click and select shift trade. You can then opt to offer the shift to everyone in the team, to a particual member of staff or to swap with a member of the team.
‘Offer shift to everyone’. You can offer full or partial shifts to everyone.
‘Swap shifts with a coworker’. You can search for available coworkers to post the shift to (those currently not working and with the same job role).
If you have requested a shift trade / swap, you will see an amber pending notification until the shift is authorised.
You can also revoke your shift trade through your employee calendar.
